Two years of sketching every day are in the books. The first year was really an effort to meet the goal of drawing every single day. Last year I tried to focus on the quality of my sketches, introduced more color explorations, and in general just tried to push myself more. I also started using the iPad for every sketch starting around May 5th.

I realized I really needed to start pushing myself out of my comfort zone in 2012. If you look at the categorizations, the sketches that fall into “People” greatly outnumber any other category (500+). It’s safe to say I love drawing people.

With 2012, my theme for the entire year will be “No People”. I’m toying with the idea of each month being a different theme, but we’ll see how that goes. It also seems appropriate given the year (thank you John Cusack). I will continue to draw people for other things I’m working on, but this sketchblog will have no sketches of any people this year.

Thanks for all the great comments and feedback so far!
